Alice Holden has worked on organic farms for nearly two decades. In 2012, she became head grower at Growing Communities – an organization set up to create and support sustainable re-localized food systems in our cities – and led the transformation of a disused site into a productive organic farm in Dagenham, East London, England.
Her work demonstrates that organic farming can benefit the environment, local communities and offer solutions to urgent climate problems. Alice also helped to design and implement Sitopia Farm, a new sustainable food growing space for Greenwich, London.
Alice is the author of Do Grow, a book to encourage and enable more people to grow their own food.
