What is a Greenhouse gas (GHG)?

A gas that absorbs and emits radiation in the atmosphere, contributing to the greenhouse effect. GHGs include water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone, and other CFCs. The most important and abundant GHG is carbon dioxide (CO₂).
